No doubt you have come across sales training courses run by self-styled gurus who repeat the mantra again and again that “cold calling doesn’t work”. You my even have been on such a sales training course yourself.

But regardless of what these so-called experts say, cold calling is is one of the most essential sales skills to master if you want to stay ahead of your competitors.

Think about it for a moment. With just one telephone call, who knows what sort of information you might be able to uncover? That one phone call to someone you have never spoken to before, could open up a sales opportunity you never would have known about if you hadn’t made the call.
